City of Parramatta Libraries has partnered with Western Sydney Local Health District to share the latest health and wellbeing information for you and your family.

Here you will find many resources, online programs and health tips to help and encourage a healthy lifestyle. Explore the following information for free NSW health programs, healthy tips and free workshops.

NSW Health service also offers free telephone based health coaching that can provide you with the support and motivation you need to reach your own healthy lifestyle goals. 


Healthy snack and lunch ideas for children – online

Looking for information on providing healthy snacks and lunch ideas that kids will love?

This 20-minute presentation is for parents or carers and will provide a range of ideas and practical tips to inspire families with tasty options from each of the five core food groups.



Healthy and active for over 60s (online)

September is Health Month and this session encourages over 60s to stay well and independent.

If you are 60 and over, Spring into Health during Library Health Month and learn how to stay well and independent, keep active and improve your balance and strength.

Healthy & Active for Life Online: For adults over 60 years of age, Aboriginal people 45+ can register. Online program currently.

Tips for healthy eating – try one and see how you go!

  1. Start your day with breakfast.
  2. Carry a water bottle to drink more water.
  3. Take fruit, nuts and crackers for snacks on the go.
  4. Switch a sugary drink to water.
  5. Are you ordering food? Try to swap to a healthier option. Swap fries for roast potatoes or salad. Swap the sausage roll for a cheese and tomato toastie.
